MAKARIOS NEW YEAR!

Makarios New YearYeah, I looked up the word for “happy” used in the New Testament. It seemed familiar to me so I dug through my archives and found that I’d looked it up back in 2010 as well and used it in an end of the year post there too. I considered reposting it, but it really wasn’t very good…

Funny how we look back on things in life with a different perspective and see the reality of what we couldn’t then. I fully expect that to be the case with this year as well. We grow, we gain wisdom, insight, maybe even polish a skill along the way, but the things that leave us without regret are the things we do to bring honor to our Father.

May 2014 be a year followed by the rest of the years we are granted this side of eternity that are with the proper focus and leave us without regret, only wisdom. “Happy” translated from the Greek as used in the New Testament is the fancy word I used in the title of the post; “Makarios”.

It means, ‘supremely blessed – fortunate – well off’. So Happy or Makarios New Year to you and yours! May you be fortunate and Supremely blessed by our heavenly Father as we strive to bring Him honor in the blessing of another year granted.

God bless you in 2014…
