FOR SOMEONE
How many tears have been spent on your behalf? More than I’ll bet you could ever imagine… Only God counts that high… Do you think so little of your loved ones? Of course.. They mean nothing to you. Only you and your desires count in your world.
How could your loved ones and their name mean anything to you? How can you love and respect them if you can’t love and respect yourself? How many promises have you broken? How many lies have you told? I suspect more than you could ever number.
What about the lies you tell yourself? Do they count? Or are you so drunk on the desires of the flesh that your life has now become like a revolting high on the decaying flesh that is so blurry you can no longer focus on what truth is?
The whole world can see what truly matters to you. Your intense insecurity can only be fed by people loving you, but even you know deep inside they don’t love you. You also know that it doesn’t matter how many want, need, desire, or love you, it isn’t enough. Nothing is enough… That desire can’t be satisfied… why? Because it isn’t love. They think no more of you than you think of yourself.
What is the meaning and purpose for your life? If you died today what would be your legacy? God forbid you die today! Who could stand up for you? Would you have them lie for you too? What would your offspring say on your behalf? Would they wish they’d never been born?
Is the earth better or worse because of you? We’ll find out soon… The selfish, sinful life of lust you’re speeding down, will call for your soul very soon. How will you answer? Why do you ignore all the signs from God?
You are exactly what’s wrong with our world. You take, never stopping to consider giving. You only give to get, to feed your illusionary self-image. Who do you serve? DO NOT be the worst of all liars and think for a second you serve God – you serve Satan.
Knowing who you serve is similar to adding one plus one, or reading the “E” on the eye chart from three feet away with 20/20 vision. When you serve yourself, you serve your master Satan.
Having a child doesn’t make you an acceptable parent. Taking a shower can’t make you clean. Telling some people you are one way while showing the other people the opposite, makes you the worst of all prodigals. The only ones who have ever loved you are the ones you lie to. The ones that think nothing of you are the ones you desperately seek acceptance and affection from.
I’ve been down your road, I passed by like the young fool. Gratification from the world is a riddle of the worst kind; it can’t be solved… it is a lie.
I believe if you don’t turn immediately from the life you are living by the grace of God.. The tears will continue to spill from the eyes that really love you…
On your grave…

You can really make someone say “ouch”!
Good job at calling us all out.
As I was reading I kept thinking of the old country and western song that says, “you’ve got to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.”

I called myself out first. A difficult thing to write, especially since I have so many weaknesses myself…. and believe it or not, it was in love. Thanks for taking the time TC, I know that this isn’t exactly enjoyable reading.

You’re speaking truth, Floyd. I hope we all take to heart that we are that “someone” you’re writing to, and vow to be honest in all our words and deeds. Sometimes it hurts to be honest, but it hurts worse if we aren’t.
I’m not sure I’ve thought much about how many tears have been cried on my behalf…an interesting thought to ponder…

Thanks for your response to a difficult subject Lisa. Often my motivation to write is the many lives that I’ve brought pain to in my life. Honesty is the first step to freedom, dishonesty is the first step into bondage.

Bob Dylan would agree with ya bro’ (so do I BTW)…
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody

Good call Jay! I love that album! Slow Train Coming… I must have worn out a couple of 8-tracks and then a couple of cassettes… I didn’t even think of it. Good call my friend!!!

May the one who should view this have ears that listen and eyes that admit that they should change lanes now and get on the path to heaven before it is too late. We all have our thoughts and weaknesses that need to be held in check and loving others is the only way to receive love back. My mother always told me the verse that says, He that desires friends, must first show himself friendly. Thanks for opening up your heart to someone and may they heed your words.

I have been thinking about the topic of legacy for over a month now. I believe what we do today determines our future legacy so focusing on today and adding value to others is important. Great post.

Thanks Dan, not an easy one to post. I regret not being able to have the wisdom early that you possess far before I did…. That my friend is a gift from God to your life… and to your family. God bless you and your Dan.

Not easy to write, but didn’t you find freedom in it as well? It is as if you’ve come into my life, viewed my “someone” and then wrote about her word for word. I’m so sad and afraid her life is going to be cut short….praying these truths will penetrate our “someone’s” very soul this day. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank you for your openness Audra. I think most of us have a “someone” like that in our lives. Some of us even have been delivered from living the life of that “someone.” It is a burden we carry for the ones God has placed in our life.

The thing that fascinates me is how truly awful humans are, but at the same time, we do still show good qualities, too. Consider the pastors who truly work hard to take care of their flock, but who struggle with porn, alcohol, whatever… the same goes for the social workers who’re out there doing their best to serve a population of people who are in great need. I know more than a handful who’ve turned to alcohol just to get over the stress of their jobs. I’m not kidding. SO, while we are hell-bound in our fleshly desires, poor witnesses to our God, etc. I believe each of us still has something wonderful to offer, and it comes straight from the father of lights-some may even say that it’s from the law written on our hearts (Romans 2:15). Either way, we all still need Jesus to get out of this crap alive 🙂

I agree 100%. We’ve all had our turn playing the fool, but when God’s calling, it’s time to pay attention. I realize none of us are perfect, me less than most. It was a difficult thing to write.

There was a retired missionary in my Assemblies of God church when I was younger. At times when I felt like nobody there could possible KNOW what was going on in my “family”, she was praying. How do I know? She came to me one time and told me. She encouraged me so much. I never forgot that and it has helped me to do the same for others.
On another note, self deception is huge, It can be from willful blindness, lack of knowledge,or plain practice of denial, until truth becomes blurred. Whatever, the Holy Spirit is not bound and can penetrate lies so the Light can get in. He is so faithful! Thanks for the pensive post, Floyd!

Thanks Nancy. And thanks for passing on the gift you received from God through the missionary from your youth. That gift God has used to do more than I think you’ll know this side of heaven…
